Man your soaring up my favorite guitarist list every time I hear you. What do you think when you solo?
I mean, are you the follow the chord mode guy or do you think intervals? Who inspires your fusion sound? And lastly it says you been making music for five years. Have you been playing guitar longer Because if you can get that good in 5 years you must be under some intense training. Sorry for all the questions. When I hear excellence I try and find out as much as I can.

Kor-Rune responds:

I think about the next phrase, and what techniques I'll use to address that phrase. Kind of like just making sentences, and pausing between them. I mostly just run the scale and land on a jazzy part of the chord so not a lot of intense thought goes into it.

Greg Howe and bands like Haken inspire my sound. I've been playing guitar and making music since 2007, so that makes 6 years.. I just haven't updated it yet lol. I did play 6 hours a day for 2 years straight, and that kind of got me over the hump and comfortable with the instrument. Grinding time always helps. Thanks for the kind words and review! I hope I answered your questions.

I can see what your trying to do. But I don't think you got it. I can see a lot of potential from you though.
Try developing your growl. Kurt Cobain used to scream for hours . Just don't become a screamer.
Also try singing louder it will broaden your sound alot (you will know what i mean when you get it)! Most of all just keep going and you'll get there

Very good cover. Love how you mix a funk feel with ballad rock guitar solos. If i were to say anything the ending doesn't really feel like an ending. I had to check to see if there was more. My question is what did you use for the guitar sounds its very good.

HenryX responds:

hehehehe thanks, the ending is incomplete, im working in the water stage, and when i have finished the song, i will mix both songs in one with a better ending.

now the stuff hmmmm is very simple, i used a BOSS ME-50 Pedal Board and recorded in Cubase 5 trough a scarlett 2i2 interface :)

Its very interesting! Makes me think of a heroic person going down the river styx through caverns and such. Other than the mastering needed (which im sure your aware of) at the end no melody sticks with me . just the feeling. the genre of course can be blamed for that, but I believe you can make it work. On a side note what are you using for the guitar bends? It sounds very real!

Deemo-R responds:

Thanks, Cale! Yeah, mastering certainly is going to be essential with something with as much wet noise as this. As for the melodies, I'm looking into something a bit more powerful, albeit still subtle enough to fit within the Ambience category. I believe some of the harmony might be detracting from it, as well, because it tends to be all over the place in certain parts.

The guitar pitch bends were all done in realtime on the Roland Fantom G, using the pitch bend lever. I lowered the cutoff and raised the attack time of the guitar to give it a smoother feel so it could compliment the bends further. The guitar soundfont itself is (iirc) Les Paul Guitar - Dark Bender, so it's rather well-suited for this kind of performance. :)
